Ferrosilicon is one of the earliest and most important products in the ferroalloy industry. In the steelmaking industry, ferrosilicon is mainly used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent. The chemical affinity between silicon and iron is the highest. Except for some boiling steels, almost all steel grades use silicon iron as a strong deoxidizer for precipitation deoxygenation and diffusion deoxygenation.
